How to Replace an replacement audi key cost uk G28 Engine Speed Sensor

Charles the Humble Technician teaches you how to replace the G28 Engine Speed Sensor. This sensor is located near the transmission's edge just above the flywheel gear. It sends a message to the ECU via an uncolored wire T55/49, then to the tachometer on the instrument cluster.

1. Engine Speed Sensor

The grey wire is situated on the outside of the transmission, above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends an electrical signal through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then uses this information to control the boost, fuel, and timig. It also sends an indicator to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster.

The sensor is used as a reference point to connect with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft is TDC and the location of the camshaft so it can trigger spark and injectors accordingly.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will throw the P00160 error, which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are not in sync and could indicate the chain stretching or a jump link on the upper chain of timing. The code will not appear without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

It is a little tricky to test because there are various connector pins, and they all have different functions. The most effective method to test it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is fully operational, it should be reading around 1000 ohms. Check for signs of coolant, or oil in the connector bay if there are issues with this part.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, while accelerating from the highway paytoll at maximum speed I noticed a significant reduction in power. It was as if the engine was running out of gas. Or my injectors were not firing. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs. Three were drenched with gazoline the fourth one was dry. When i crank the engine without sparks i put tissue on the top of each hole in the injector, the 3 drenched with gazoline jump out but the 4th one stays shut. I checked the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I found zero ohm. I'm assuming the issue is in another place.

I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car is able to start if the G28 is not plugged in and is running fine when it is plugged in, but still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The coolant temperature sensor (G62) shows the wrong temp value -49c even when i unplug it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.

renault-logo-evolution.jpgI'm not sure what to do, as i feel i have pretty much eliminated everything else. I'm concerned that i may have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter functions similarly to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily find a spare in a wrecking shop or parts store. Testing them is easy to do - just put your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector end up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black end of the connector). They should be infinite ohms.

4. ECU

happy-african-american-businessman-holding-car-key-2022-12-16-16-36-17-utc-min-scaled.jpgThe ECU in our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY ADU) engines needs to know both the speed and position of the crankshaft to make decisions regarding timing of the fuel injector, etc. To do this, it uses a Crank Position Sensor (G4) and an Engine Speed Sensor (G28). If you encounter a problem with either of these sensors, the diagnostic scanner will display codes that could cause the engine shutting down.

A damaged G28 sensor can cause an inaccurate gearbox speed counter or a gearbox that shifts faster than normal, or a misfire in the gear. It is possible that your sensor is failing and needs to be replaced if you experience any of these symptoms. They are cheap and easy-to-find, especially in the case of a Bosch sensor like ours. Alternately, GM's version this part would be a good option.

5. Tachometer

A failing engine speed sensor could be the reason behind a slew of issues in your vehicle. It's a vital component of your audi key replacement cost's transmission, because it communicates to the ECU about how the car's crankshaft is spinning. If the sensor fails, it could cause problems for the transmission, as well as the other car's components.

The G5 engine sensor is located at the edge of transmission, above the flywheel ring. It sends an electrical signal through a gray wire to the ECU pin T55/49. The ECU is then able to process this signal to regulate fuel, timig and boost and then sends it on to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster. You can test the sensor for any failure by checking the continuity between it and the tachometer, between the ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection to pin T6a/1 (trace [79trace [79]) as well as between T6a/1, and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. There should be the resistance to be around 1000 ohms between these two points. This is a common feature across the audi keys replacement cost tt key fob not working (simply click the up coming webpage) 80-100-200-RS2 model, ranging beginning with the 1985 MC and up to the 1997 UrS An and 1995 RS2 Du You may also find good ones in wrecking yards.
